Dr. Edward Bach as a Sensitive Individual Living through Challenging Times
In this interview and conversation, Julian will answer our questions on what is known about Dr Bach’s sensitivity, and how this characterized his journey as a researcher. How his sensitivity may have helped him find and research the flower remedies, and how his own use of the essences may have helped him navigate the challenges of his time. In this lecture, Julian will also present details on the geometry of Star of Bethlehem, and how this essence has helped individuals through dark passages in Dr Bach’s time, all the way into the planetary crisis of our present day.

The Role of Digestion - Transformation and Personal Power
Human beings have the ability to digest and to transform anything. ‘Sensitivity’ can be a curse – whether it is physical, emotional, or mental.
I want to introduce you to the Earth element in Traditional Chinese Medicine – The Spleen and the Stomach channels which govern our digestion, nourishment and immunity. And show you how your ‘sensitivity’ might become a blessing.
Some people may think that the brain is in charge of our health and well being. Others may think it is the heart which is in charge. The reality is that our health and well being in daily life is fundamentally created and supported by how well we are able to digest, not only, our physical nourishment, but also our reactions and responses to our life experiences.
In this presentation we will discuss ‘sensitivity’ at all levels of our being and:
– examine the function of digestion according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
– how digestion reveals itself at each level of our being – Physical, Mental, Emotion, and Spirit
– look at some flower sea and gem essences from the Pacific Essences® Repertory which will support digestion at every level
– understand that when carefully maintained, sustained and satisfied our ‘sensitivity’ can be a blessing
Through this journey we may come to understand the reality that the only thing any of us can really change is ourselves. Through this understanding we can develop greater adaptability and resilience to cope with changing times in powerful and effective ways. In this manner we can harness the power of our ‘sensitivity’ to maintain health and well being in our own Body/Mind and to contribute something meaningful and powerful in our world.

Accessing Guidance from Spirit and Transforming Challenges to Joy
After a brief historical introduction of the global use of Flower Essences, as well as my background with the Bush Essences, I will discuss how beliefs and sub-conscious sabotage develop and their impact on an individual. I will then show how the Bush Essences can be used to clear both these patterns, as well as homoeopathic miasms. Children born in this milIlennium are far more sensitive than previous generations and they also learn and process information differently. I will cover how to use the Bush Essences to help these aspects in young people. In the last few years with the devastating natural disasters – fires, floods etc and now Covid and the ensuing isolation and restrictions, there has been unprecedented levels of anxiety and trauma being experienced. I will address how the Bush Essences are able to effectively help with this. Finally I will discuss how to connect to Nature and the Spiritual guidance around us, which is available and wanting to help us through these challenging times. I look forward to sharing my presentation with you and hope you will find it practical, visually stunning, beneficial and empowering.

Sensitives as Leaders in the Greater Journey of ReMembering
- Is it possible that we, Sensitive Individuals, ultimately have been saved by our early connection with Nature?
- Do you recognize this early affinity with plants, animals, nature places, and feel this may have saved your sanity amidst difficult times?
- Why are we sensitives more prone to becoming traumatized, and more prone to being impacted by Developmental Trauma?
- What is Developmental Trauma and how can it be treated and transformed?
Maybe this very sensitivity can now be perceived as one of our greatest sources of strength. As we recognize ourselves as Agents of ReIntegration, how can we step more fully into our Purpose? These will be highlights of a conversation that I very much look forward to having with all of you, participants in this Conference!

Trauma-Informed Flower Essence Formulation
Trauma, by definition, is an unbearable reality: stress responses that overwhelm the organism’s capacity to do anything but dissociate (deny the emotional reality of the situation). Stress responses that get locked away and frozen in the body/psyche, causing ourselves and our clients to linger in survival strategies and coping mechanisms, sometimes for a lifetime or more, passing them down through generations, sometimes creating sensitivities in the organism as well as exacerbating sensitivities that are already hard-wired in the personality. How, as practitioners and consumers, can we support our clients and ourselves with personalized flower essence formulas to address the whole constellation of the individual’s trauma and sensitivities? This presentation will provide important basic structure for approaching flower essence formulation in a trauma-informed way.

Using your Inner Compass to Find Joy & Purpose
A significant, and often critical, outcome of the work done in my practice is helping the brain react to anxiety and frustration by asking “What do I need to do?” (instead of screaming “Not again!”). Freedom from “future fear narrative” reactions opens the door to changing behavior patterns and jump-starting the journey you long to be on.
The flower essence language speaks to the continuum of choices that exist, even when the brain thinks there are none. Embracing that concept creates space for your heart and soul to impact decision-making, thus gaining clarity regarding anxiety and trauma, and increasing control in life.
My “inner compass” tools help clients discover the unique geography of their life and create different routes, or new maps entirely, towards their destination. They put the steering wheel in the client’s hands, moving towards choice-driven behavior and away from reactive “future fear” narratives. The compasses are lifelong guides to self-correct your course – they reference your patterns of imbalance and the fully nourished place your soul longs for.
I will share real examples of similar narratives with vastly different paths to finding joy and purpose.

Nearly a decade ago, Betsy developed a unique “inner compass” system for her essence sessions. The system has proven to work well for all clients and situations, including adults, children, pets, homes, offices, lineage/ancestral, relationships, and more.

Mind the Gap: Homo Sapiens Biological Drive x Consciousness for Healing Traumatic Society
Considering the emergence of homo sapiens around 300,000 years, in a planet that exists at least for 4 billions of years – we are a very young species that carries the paradox between the biological drive of cruelty and compassion. Between these 2 pillars, we are living in a traumatized society that is longing for change, in a transitory cycle inside our species – from homo to cyber sapiens.
But also inside the theme Trauma, we must be aware to embrace without going to the other extreme: a weak society. I am presenting the virtues of the Atlantic Rainforest – one of the biggest diversities in the planet, as a key for change , integrating the 3 main centers of the behavioral physiology – the instinct, emotional and intellectual towards the foundation of a new planetary culture, considering the education of our biological drive; as well offering the 8 attentions to focus, so we can be guided for the expected balance and emotional health.
Sandra Epstein, Ararêtama
Graduated in Art-Education with specialization in Neuroscience, Sandra began her research on the benefits of the vibrational energy of the Atlantic Forest in the region of Ubatuba in 1990, where she developed the System of Floral and Vibrational Essences of the Atlantic RainForest called ARARÊTAMA, work carried out in one of the greatest biodiversity on the planet.
Ararêtama is a Tupi-Guarani word, which means “place where light originates”. “As a pillar of the system is the structure of this forest: its natural wealth, the way it lives, survives and expands its species makes the Atlantic Forest express a biological message for all humanity. Through its biodiversity and respect for botanical differences, it builds a carpet of life, where one plant praises the other, without destructive competition. Ancestral trees, bromeliads, orchids, mushrooms and lianas are rich interfaces for the healthy development of human beings.
Sandra created the Therapeutic System called EMOTIONAL FITNESS, which encompasses behavioral and emotional exercises as a gym, integrating our 3 centers: instinctive, sentimental and intelectual. The Workshops presented by Sandra Epstein establish a bridge between the special moment we live on the planet with the anthropological knowledge that human beings have produced for centuries. The key point to be worked on, in these accelerated times of communication and technological development, is the historical and social responsibility that our current generation has in keeping this knowledge alive on the planet for future generations, enabling the creation of a new planetary culture.

Magic is Medicine: Attuning to Magical Consciousness to Support our Work with Flower Essences
“Magic is essentially the higher understanding of nature.” How we can access our magic, and maintain a spiritual connection to nature in our modern, tech-driven society?
In this workshop, we’ll discuss the Anima Mundi (Soul of the World) and the direct relationship between the natural world and the human psyche.
This workshop begins with an exploration of philosopher Jean Gebser’s consciousness structures, which offers an overview of humanity’s shifting consciousness from ancient times to present. We’ll explore how flower essence therapy invites us to integrate our Magical, Mythical, and Mental faculties to re-calibrate our relationship with nature’s intelligence.
Lindsay Fauntleroy introduces practical strategies to safely access plant consciousness, such as active imagination, creative dialogue, and meditative presence. She’ll explore how flower essences – and the magic we experience when working with them – reflect Indigenous and African Diasporic understandings of health, humanity, nature, and the cosmos. The workshop concludes with an exploration of supportive tools to access and protect our magic within a rapidly changing world.

Flower Essences, Colors and Chakras
We can never underestimate a plant’s ability to communicate with humanity. True, not everyone can link into a plant in subtle ways, but a plant does communicate easily through its flowers, by sight, color and perfume.
Color is scientifically proven to create physical changes within humans. We cannot deflect the impact of color on our endocrine system. It happens whether we physically see the color or not. Color is an energy. The attraction or avoidance of color by an individual has been long used as a diagnostic tool in color therapy. Likewise color can also be used to help with choices of flower essences.
The chakra system is one of the more straightforward of the energy systems that therapists use. Coming from the texts of the Vedas of Ancient India, this knowledge did not reach the Western World until the late 19th Century. This was simplified in the 1960s into what many people are familiar with today. Combining the qualities of color of the flowers that essences are made from, with the ‘easiest to remember’ chakra correspondences, provide a simple and effective tool. This method is ideal for self-help and for the professional essence therapist.
Sue Lilly, suelilly.co.uk
Sue Lilly has been working with essences since the 1970’s when she discovered they helped the everyday traumas of her young family and studying astrology and practising yoga kept her sane during these early years.
Colour healing, crystal healing and Health Kinesiology were later added to create a foundation of her professional practice.Sue began passing on the skills she had learned, from teaching yoga in 1979 and then drawing in others as time
has gone on.
She now has over thirty books published on a wide range of topics. She developed a range of environmental essences called ‘Sovereignty’ which help people reconnect to the cycles of Nature and to the feminine aspects the Land.
Nowadays she is based in the beautiful Irfon Valley in Breconshire, Wales, working as a teacher, counsellor and supporting her local community as Council Clerk.

Baneful Medicine: Transforming Trauma with Flower Essences Made from Poison Plants
Poisonous plants are sometimes regarded as dangerous, mysterious, or even sinister, but they have a long tradition of providing protection and support during difficult times. When made into flower essences, plants like nightshade, henbane, and other poison plants are effective tools for treating shock and trauma. Dr. Bach’s star-of-Bethlehem is the perfect example of a poisonous plant whose essence is celebrated for this around the world today. Many of these plants have a long history of apotropaic use in magical herbalism, too, a theme often echoed in their corresponding essences’ abilities to bolster psychic and social defenses for sensitive people. Join flower essence author and practitioner Nicholas Pearson to learn how to work with poison plant essences to counteract the effects of trauma and stress and become more resilient in an ever-changing world.

Allow Nature to Empower You on Your Life Journey
As sensitive individuals, we are especially impacted by what happens in the world around us. We may wonder what the reason is we are here during this important time of change and transformation? How can vibrational essences support us in feeling safe and at home, and discover our unique life purpose? Judith will talk about how vibrational essences help us find alignment with our Inner Being and experience life from a more grounded, heart-centered perspective. You will learn about important Alaskan flower, gem and environmental essences for the times we are in. The plant, mineral and elemental kingdom each have different qualities that support us in clearing mental and emotional blockages and patterns, so we can let more of our Soul’s light come in and allow that energy stream and wisdom to flow to and through us. That is how we can find more joy in our life, feel we belong, understand our life purpose, and feel inspired to share our unique gifts with others.

Flower Essences & Complex Trauma Recovery
Complex trauma (CT), also known as Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), is a particular kind of trauma that occurs as a result of being exposed to harm over an extended period of time. CT creates distinct constellations of emotional, physical, and energetic imbalances, as well as unique opportunities for healing and repair. In my clinical experience, utilizing a holistic method that includes flower essences has been a constructive approach to facilitating recovery from CT.
The process of healing CT involves assisting survivors in reorienting their bodies, minds, and spirits, not around their trauma but instead around their inherent wellness and wholeness something flower essences are especially attuned to do. We all have the ability to come into balance and to heal, and CT survivors can thrive in the world when they feel safe and empowered to trust the intelligence of their whole being. Plants are natural allies in this work, as they too possess their own intelligence and multidimensionality.
For flower essence practitioners, a more inclusive and comprehensive understanding of CT as well as knowledge of the potent ways flower essences are natural helpers in this recovery work are essential for offering the greatest level of care to our clients.

Tending the Legacy of Flower Essence Therapy
Join Ruth, Kathleen and Rochana for a fascinating discussion with Isabela Bisconcini, a flower essence educator, practitioner and psychotherapist from Brazil, on the multidimensional transmission and living legacy of flower essence information.
Isabela Bisconcini
Isabela at the age of 13 started a spiritual and personal search. When she was 21 she met a Tibetan Healer Lama, and took him as a master. She graduated as Psychologist at the age of 22, and first met Flower Essences when she was 24 years old, in 1990. The idea of remedies made by flowers immediately fascinated her. In that innovative and creative period were the seeds for the path she would love and honor for her entire life: vibrational essences, psychology and spiritual journey. She took courses of the Alaska, California, Australia, Desert, Netherlands and Pacific essences with the systems creators. In time she became a jungian analyst, systemic constellator, EMDR therapist, meditation instructor and also graduated in Languages: Portuguese-Italian.
Nowadays Isabella works using vibrational essences as a fundamental tool in dealing with emotional wounds and trauma.
She happily teaches about the Alaskan Essences, sharing the legacy of Steve Johnson’s life, the treasure he left for all of us.
